The Boat Loft sits on approximately 3.22 acres with 454 feet of shoreline, on the eastern shore of Holter Lake, in Lewis & Clark County, west central Montana. The Big Belt Mountains are located at the southern end of the lake. Jackson Peak is located across the lake, southwest of the Boat Loft, and the Gates of the Mountains Wilderness to the south.

The Boat loft is a well established marina since the 1970's. It offers 9 storage building with 208 loft and bunk spots plus 14 wet slips. The parking lots are used as winter storage for boats and RV's. There is a boat servicing facility with a full-time certified mechanic with several years of experience. A wash bay that is used for detailing and cleaning boats.

The Boat Loft is open 7 days a week from April-0ctober 31st depending on weather.

There is a convenient fuel dock, one of the only two licensed fuel sales on Holter Lake. Also included is a grocery store that sells bait, tackle, beer & wine, boat accessories (such as ski's, tubes, lifejackets, oil, etc.), souvenirs, tobacco, fountain pop, ice, grocery items and more. There is also a large rental fleet of pontoons, a family and a fishing boat.
